Criteria for Including a Song in the Cafe Songbook Catalog

Every song in the Cafe Songbook catalog has an individual page dedicated to it. Songs that qualify for their own page are generally considered to be standards written during the period 1910-1965, or are songs from that period which although not standards have been deemed by Cafe Songbook to be of a quality worthy of inclusion.

Searching, Navigating and Understanding
the Catalog

To search for and go directly to a specific word or phrase (such as a song title, composer name, etc.), use keystroke Control + F (Windows) or Command + F (Mac). A search box will appear in your browser window: for Explorer and Opera at top left; for Safari and Chrome, top right; for Firefox at bottom left).

When entering titles in the search box, omit the opening "The," "A," or "An" (e.g. "Foggy Day" not "A Foggy Day". Also, for names of compsers and lyricists, enter last name only, e.g. "Porter," not "Cole Porter."

Finally, if you aren't sure in any way of the exact term you are searching for, enter a part of it you are sure of. For example, if you don't know how to spell "Ac-cent-tchu-ate the Positive," enter "positive" and you will find what you're looking for.
